The Zombuki are chimeras of the doll world, hybrids of many styles and cultures which reflect the protean nature within us all. The site may be navigated via the links above, or you can go straight to the galleries by clicking on the images below. Please enjoy your time with the Zombuki ...
Zombuki, a combination of the words “zombie” and “kabuki,” was a term dreamed up with the help of a friend some time ago. Zombukis are meant to be a hybrid of many styles and cultures (the zombie itself being both alive and dead), able to embody many looks, to be chimeras of the doll world.

Brigitte Coovert is a 27 year old human female residing in Florida with her rat/sidekick, Estlin, and shares a studio with her life partner, Matt. Her first dolls, knock-off Barbies, were altered, quite violently, in 1996, much to the concern of her psychologist father. One of said Barbies was shoved into the hands of Marilyn Manson after a concert by a friend of Brigitte’s, so technically, he’s owned her work, though probably only for a few seconds before it ended up in a tour bus trash can. Moving on. After a haitus, Brigitte returned to the toy medium for a few years, but came back to dolls when she discovered Pullips in 2005. The first Zombuki Pullip was created in August of 2006 and was a smash hit (by her own standards), much to Brigitte’s total amazement. In the time since, over a dozen of the little monsters have been created in the Pullip, Dal, and Blythe mediums, and have found homes across the globe. Zombukis have been featured in multiple publications.
Please feel free to contact Brigitte with any questions/inquiries you may have.
